C. Mack Solutions Community Day to support Food for Others

The C. Mack Solutions team and their families joined together on March 7, 2020 to make Power Packs for Food for Others. Together they made 250 Power Packs, which equates to 500 days of food for children who are food insecure in Fairfax County. Their Power Packs weighed in at over 900 pounds of food!

Food for Others, is a non-profit organization which is an essential part of Northern Virginia’s safety net for those needing food when an emergency strikes, and those who need to supplement their inadequate food supplies. Food for Others feeds more than 1,800 families each week.

The Power Pack Program provides elementary school students with a pack of food they can bring home and eat over the weekend. Several children in our area have little or almost nothing to eat between their Friday lunch and Monday breakfast meals provided at school. The weekend Power Pack (which contains 2 items for breakfast, 2 items for lunch, and 2 items for dinner, plus 2 snacks and 2 drinks) helps alleviate hunger for local children in need and enables them to focus on their school work.
