CMS Steps Up Support of Food for Others during COVID-19
With the COVID-19 pandemic swirling around Virginia, local food pantries such as Food For Others (FFO), are in need now more than ever. As families manage the changes with job loss and no school, food insecurity is on a steep incline. Currently, FFO is supporting over 200-350 families per day. Before COVID-19, Food For Others was helping 60 families per day on average. The long line wrapped about the FFO warehouse is a striking image highlighting the vast need in our community.
CMS believes that in order to support our community, we must help meet the most basic needs. Food for Others will use our most recent donation to buy the most needed items of canned goods and fresh produce. We will continue to collaborate with FFO staff on the best way to support their mission throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
